Winter Shelter is now open
The Winter shelter is now open. You can call 319-366-7999 for information or simply go to the shelter to register. The shelter is located at 1027 12th Avenue SW. (Take 8th Ave SW towards Kingston Stadium and turn left on 10th Street. Turn right on 12th Ave and turn in the first gate. If you enter Cargill's gate, you've gone too far.) The shelter opens at 4 pm and closes at 8 am. Hours are subject to change.
Small Business Saturday Reminds Us
to Support Local Businesses
Small Business Saturday is Nov. 29. However, with the snow coming on Saturday, it might be best to visit the businesses on Black Friday instead! Small Business Saturday was started by American Express in 2010 to help small businesses during the holiday shopping season. It is officially co-sponsored by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and takes place on the Saturday after Thanksgiving.
