About me
I've always wanted to be a writer. I loved reading books such as Harriet the Spy, Pippi Longstocking, Island of the Blue Dolphin, and the Little House series. I was inspired by the strong female characters, and I wanted to be just like them. As I grew up, I knew I wanted to write stories that inspired young girls to be strong, too.
I have self-published several books, including Mind Games, Stepping Stones, and the Between World series.
I graduated in 2012 with a journalism degree, but I've realized that although facts are important, it's fun to write creatively, too.
I have always been an avid photographer, but my world opened up when I discovered digital cameras. Anyone can take a photo with their phones, but it takes a real photographer to be able to tell a story with just one photo.
After I graduated from Mount Mercy in 2012, I started a newspaper in Hiawatha. When it was apparent I couldn't afford the printing costs, I wrote articles and took photos for the Marion Times and then Hiawatha Today. Today I am the office manager for Willis Dady Homeless Shelter, but I write every chance I get. I currently live in Cedar Rapids, Iowa with my fur baby, Bailey.
